As a side meal or as a fast food, the delicacy of taste with
a blend of a variety of ingredients, and also with a popularity worldwide is
none another than croquettes. Croquette is a French term meaning “to crunch”. The
main ingredient in the coating is the breadcrumbs, giving the crispiest taste.
INGREDIENTS
FOR COVERING
Beef mince 250 grams
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
Mustard paste 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
Green chilies 4 small
All-purpose flour 2 tablespoons
FOR FILLING
Sweet corns 5 tablespoons
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Carrot 1 small
Mayonnaise 4 tablespoons
Cheddar cheese shredded 6 tablespoons
Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
FOR COATING
Bread crumbs as needed
Egg 1
METHOD
·
Cut the green chilies to fine pieces and also
cut carrot to small fine pieces.

Add to the mince, all-purpose flour, red chili
powder, salt, black pepper powder, green chilies and mustard paste and keep
aside.
·
Boil corn in 1/2 cup of water, add sugar in it
and cook for 5 minutes.
·
Mix together sweet corns, carrot, cheddar
cheese, mayonnaise, black pepper powder and salt and keep aside.
·
Flatten the mince mixture on palm, add in the
coleslaw filling, and make oval shape balls, out of them.
·
Heat oil, dip the balls in the egg one at a
time, then cover them with bread crumbs, cook on medium heat till turns golden
brown.

Serve with coleslaw and enjoy!
NOTE
When making croquettes with beef or mutton mince, it
requires the addition of all-purpose flour, so that they may not break while
frying, while such is not observed with chicken’s mince, where there is no need
of flour addition.
